Yejin (Mary) Choi is the pastry and service half of the private catering duo atRooted Seeds Cateringwith her chef husband, Joseph Buenconsejo. She was born and raised in Queens, New York, where she graduated from washing scallions and peeling garlic to cooking full Korean meals alongside her mom and grandma. Upon actually graduating from Johnson & Wales with a culinary arts and nutrition degree, she worked in kitchens and bakeries around NYC and the Catskills for 10 years. Yejin lives in Danbury, Connecticut, where she spends most of her time contemplating when she and her husband will finally hit the road to drive cross-country in the converted van they recently bought.
