What can you say about everyone's favorite TV chef that hasn't already been enumerated in hundreds of books, television shows, and articles, not to mention a major motion picture? The happy, often hapless Child was hardly graceful in her TV kitchen, but she taught us that you could be an ordinary person and still make culinary miracles happen—as long as you applied yourself, kept an open mind, and had a positive attitude. (Sadly, though, most of us willnotget to be portrayed on-screen by Meryl Streep.)
