These Are Your Favorite Kitchen Tools

We asked, you answered.

This morningwe asked Epicurious readers a question: what are your most loved and most used kitchen tools? The ones you absolutely can't live without? Turns out you had a lot to say.

Along with amicroplane, many of you sung the praises of thebox grater, which you use not only to grate cheese but also to prep potatoes forhash browns.

Tongs also received a lot of love. A good pair ofspring loaded tongsare great for giving your roasted vegetables a quick toss in the oven or turning over pieces of meat you're browning on the stove.

A few of you also love thefine mesh sieve. Rhoda Boone, our Food Editor, agrees: "A fine mesh sieve can sift flour and other dry ingredients before baking, dust a dessert with powdered sugar, strain sauces, or act as a colander for draining pasta or washing produce."

And you can't forget a sturdypeeler. How else will your vegetables get peeled?

Other tools that received a shout out: amandoline, kitchen shears, and aspice grinder.

Finally, there was one kitchen tool everybody seemed to agree on: Awine opener. Because everybody's a better cook when there's a glass of wine in hand.
