Maraschino liqueur sounds obscure but it's often hiding in plain sight. Seek it for this simple, classic cocktail.

I'm just a little confused - the header Aviation was followed by "combine champagne, gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup"... Thinking to myself, that's a French 75, I had to look at the recipe. Glad to see the recipe was correct - yet, the addition of Crème de violette makes a prettier cocktail and certainly shows the relationship between 'Aviation' and 'off we go into the wild blue younder'.

What? You're kidding, right? Where's the Creme de Violette? You DARE to leave out the most important ingredient? It's what gives this cocktail the sky-blue color for which it was named. If you don't know that then you're certainly not a qualified bartender and you have no business making this drink. Unbelievable.
