This cocktail recipe would also be tasty with regular dark rum and ginger ale, but we like the kick you get from using the spicier versions of each.

Ingredients

Makes 1

2 ounces spiced rum
2 ounces strong black coffee, room temperature
½ ounce fresh lemon juice
4 ounces ginger beer
  1. Combine rum, coffee, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker begins to get cold, about 10 seconds.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass and top with ginger beer.
