Hazy Mary

While at first blush it may appear that this cheater pitcher was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Creedence Clearwater Revival, the credit belongs entirely to bottled smoke. Rim the glasses with Cheater Basic Smoked Salt with celery seed (page 48) if you like.

Ingredients

makes 16 servings

One 750-ml bottle vodka or tequila or four 12-ounce beers
Two 1-quart bottles Clamato juice
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons bottled smoke
Juice of 4 lemons or limes
3 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
Hot pepper sauce, to taste
Celery sticks
  1. COMBINE all the ingredients (except the celery) in a gallon jug. Serve over ice in tall glasses, garnished with celery sticks.
