Inspired by Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda, the sparkling soda made with celery that was a favorite in my youth, I give you this reduced-calorie version, which can be made in the comfort of your own kitchen.

Ingredients

4 servings

2 large stalks celery, coarsely chopped
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1/4 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 cup seedless green grapes
1 cup still water
4 cups sparkling water
  1. Step 1

1.泥碎芹菜,芹菜种子,coriander seeds, and grapes in a blender with the still water. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher.

    Step 2

    2. Add the sparkling water, stir gently, and serve.

  • Outstanding! Made it exactly as written, and mixed the base with Perrier. I did end up increasing the amount of base to about 1 part base to 2 parts Perrier for a little stronger flavor. Very unique, very refreshing.

  • Not for the faint at heart or sweet drink lovers. I have never had the Cel-Ray soda so I have nothing really to compare this too. It was an interesting mix of flavors and adding sugar just made it nasty, I threw that glass out. It's like drinking flavored sparkling water. Celery flavored sparkling water...the coriander gave it a lemony note. My husband loves it and I made a new batch today but I didn't have grapes so I used unsweeted frozen raspberries instead, only about 1/2 a cup though. Still good. Fun to try new drinks like this. I will keep making it.
