Sangaree

Ingredients

Serves 1.

1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar
1 1/2 ounces liquor (brandy, gin, rum, sherry or whiskey) or wine
2 or 3 ice cubes
Nutmeg
  1. Put sugar in a small tumbler with just enough water to dissolve. Add the liquor or wine and ice, stir well and top with a little grated nutmeg. The drink may be varied by adding club soda to fill a large tumbler and floating 3 tablespoons of port on top, followed by the usual dusting of nutmeg.
