Named for the French Quarter of New Orleans, this classic cocktail is complex and boozy. It's made with rye whiskey, cognac, sweet vermouth, and Bénédictine, an herbal liqueur that's sweetened with a touch of honey.
Ingredients
Makes 1 cocktail
1 oz. rye whiskey
1 oz. cognac
1 oz. sweet vermouth
1 tsp. Bénédictine
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
Garnish: lemon twist
Combine rye, cognac, Bénédictine, Angostura, and Peychaud's in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir until well chilled. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass and garnish with lemon twist.
