The Instant Pot Is On Sale for $49 This Week

The price keeps getting lower.

Hot on the heels of Amazon Prime Day's Instant Pot sale, Walmart has dropped its price of thepressure cooking/slow cooking wondereven lower. From Monday July 23 though Wednesday July 25, the6-qt Instant Pot Lux60 is $49, $30 less than its original price of $79.

The Lux60 is the most basic model in the Instant Pot collection. It has all the capabilities of the classic Duo, save for the ability to make yogurt with one touch. It can do everything else though—pressure cook, slow cook, make rice, steam, sauté, and keep food warm. It's best for those who've read about themania behind the Instant Potand want to see if it really cancook beansas fast as everyone says it can. Or for those who've done their research thoroughly and want the Instant Pot just for its pressure-cooking and slow-cooking abilities (i.e. you have no interest in making yogurt).

Almost all of thestarter recipes for the Instant Potrely on three functions: pressure cooking, slow cooking, and sautéing. For instance, when youboil eggs in the Instant Pot, the high pressure environment makes them easier to peel than if they were boiled on the stovetop. Using it tobraise ribscuts out traditional steps like par-boiling the meat in water to tenderize them or letting them slow-cook overnight to infuse a deep flavor (the high pressure gives ribs a tenderness and depth of flavor in a fraction of the time).

The 6-qt model comes with a dishwasher-safe stainless steel inner pot, features three temperature settings for the sauté and slow cooker functions, and has a 24-hour delayed start timer. It can handle up to 240 minutes of pressure cooking and automatically keeps warm. The $49 sale price at Walmart includes free 2-day shipping or free in-store pick-up.
