Sesame seeds have a powerful antidepressant effect and provide the basis for this healthy, restorative dinner.
Ingredients
Serves 4
Step 1
Mix the sesame seeds and red pepper flakes on a plate, then press the salmon fillets into the mixture to coat.
Step 2
Heat half the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat, add the salmon, and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
Step 3
Heat the remaining oil in the skillet over high heat, add the vegetables, and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes, until just cooked. Drizzle the soy sauce over the vegetables and serve with the salmon and basmati rice.

Back to TopI love knowing how easy it is to make sesame crusted fish, I think this would work well for tuna, too. However, the sesame seeds would be much tastier if toasted first. I do that in a skillet or sometimes in the microwave on a dinner plate. We'll try it again to perfect it! We liked the red pepper and might double what's called for.

Wonderful! Use the pepper flakes. It will not be too spicey, do salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy this easy and elegant meal.

I had some sesame seed that I wanted to use so I was excited to try this recipe. It was OK I would give it 2.5 forks. It certainly did not have enough flavor for 4 forks. I followed the recipe taking some of the hints to try to bring the flavor but it was blah.

I only made the salmon half of this recipe, but it was delicious. Since I didn't make the veggies, I add some soy sauce to the pan when cooking the salmon. I'll try the full recipe next.

This is beautiful and delicious--and easy enough for a weeknight dinner. I made quinoa with roasted corn as the side and it made for a pretty plate. Add a bit of kosher salt to the crust and it's perfect.

这道菜的眼睛把我变成了一个英雄y girlfriend. The visual effect alone makes it look like something you'd have in a restaurant, but it's so easy to achieve. I sprinkled some sesame seeds over the veggies too when plating. I did add some salt into the crust mix on the recommendation of other reviews - I didn't mind the salmon speaking for itself but can see how you might want some more complexity if that's your thing.

The sesame crust is great, but there's some flavor missing. I did add sea salt, as others suggested, and I ran some garlic over the pan, but overall there was a lack of depth or dimension to the flavor. What to add? Sweet? Garlic? Something?

Each week a friend comes to dinner, and I test recipes on him. This went over very well. I didn't have any Bokchoy so I used broccoli. Served it with couscous pilaf. and a peach tort for dessert.

I can't believe how easy this recipe was to make - perfect for a week night and absolutely divine!! The red pepper flakes were too spicy for my kids, so I added curry powder and salt to the sesame crust and they loved it. And because of this recipe I have now fallen in love with bok choy. YUM!!!!!

Taking a cue from the previous comments I added a tsp of kosher salt to the crust and crooked in sesame oil instead of olive. Quite delicious and the mix of veggies were the perfect side.

My first experience with a crusted salmon recipe, and it turned out pretty good! Some might say it could use some more flavor complexity, but I appreciated the simplicity. Soy sauce was a good addition.

The salmon needs more flavor, I rubbed the salmon with sesame oil and then pressed the sesame seeds and chili seeds into the salmon. Clearly needed some salt for flavor. Next time will use kosher or sea salt.
