Simple Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

Makes 2 1/2 cups

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
  1. Place 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water in a saucepan; bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently until the sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes. Cool to room temperature. The syrup can be used immediately or stored in a covered container until needed.
