Use a wooden spoon to prevent overflowing pots

"Probably sacrilege, but I put dry pasta in a saucepan with cold water—not lots of water, just enough—and bring them to a boil together. I can't tell any difference between this easy method and using the big pot and extra time."—Kris M.
