Vanilla Crème Fraîche

Ingredients

Makes about 1 cup

1 8-ounce container crème fraîche*
1/2 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  1. Step 1

    Spoon crème fraîche into small bowl; scrape in seeds from vanilla bean and stir to blend. Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate.

  2. Step 2

    *Available at some supermarkets and specialty foods stores.

  • Great with the chocolate-caramel tart to cut the sweetness a bit. Hard to find creme fraiche so I'll use sour cream in a pinch next time.
