Say Hello to Thanksgiving Sangria

这巨拳值得你新的你rkey Day tradition.

Thanksgiving can be overwhelming (that's why we've gota ton of guides for it). One challenge that folks always forget about until it's too late? What to serve those thirsty guests when they walk in the door. After all, the last thing you need to worry about is shaking up cocktails to-order while guests filter in, and whilewine is always an option, you might be looking for a drink that will help your guests feel that holiday vibe. Enter Thanksgiving sangria.

Skeptical? Hear us out on this one. A large-format drink like sangria orpunchis the best (and, we'd argue, the only) way to serve cocktails to a crowd, since it relieves you of bartending duty and encourages everyone to serve themselves. It's cost-effective, too—you don't have to splurge on an ultra-nice bottle (or, um,box) of wine for sangria, because you're going to mix in juice and hard liquor.

Oh, and this sangria isn'tthe classic recipe, with Spanish red wine, brandy, apples, and oranges. You've got to keep it festive for Turkey Day, so we're incorporating our favorite fall flavors in this rendition of the drink: pomegranate, cinnamon, pear, and rum are all making an appearance. Sparkling cider adds sweetness, dimension, and makes the drink feel a little more, well, drinkable. So mix up a big bowl of Thanksgiving sangria, throw in a ladle, and let your guests gettastefully toastedwhile you worry about the rest.

Here's the sangria recipe that you'll be making every Thanksgiving from here on out.
