This simple, two-ingredient blend yields a soft, powdery sugar perfect for sprinkling over desserts.

Ingredients

Makes about 1/2 cup

1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon potato starch

Special Equipment

an electric coffee/spice grinder
  1. Grind sugar and potato starch together in grinder until powdery.

Cooks' note:

Sugar keeps 1 month in an airtight container at room temperature.

  • This was super easy and exactly what I needed. I couldn't find Passover powdered sugar anywhere (but really wanted to make frosting for a cake). This worked! I used a twenty year old coffee grinder and it took a minute. Three batches filled a 2 cup plastic container.
