When we asked our readers about the kitchen tools they thought was most important, it wasn’t a KitchenAid stand mixer or fancy Le Creuset cookware; it was a sharp knife. And we agree. Good, knives are the foundation of a well-equipped kitchen—you can’t prepare anything without them. Fortunately for anyone whose knives could use an upgrade there are loads of Cyber Monday knife deals available. Agood chef’s knifewill easily glide through large proteins and dice vegetables. A newparing knifeworks as well as any vegetable peeler and a well-designedserrated knifeis the safest way to cut crusty bread and the secret to thinly sliced tomatoes. Bad knives, on the other hand, don’t just yield bad results—they can actually be dangerous. Dull knives are much more likely to slip and cut you than a sharp blade is.
Expensive knives don’t always equal reliable knives (we have a lot of inexpensive favorites), but there's no denying that knives and knife maintenance can get a little expensive. Which makes events like Black Friday sales and Cyber Monday a great opportunity to load or reload your chopping arsenal. We’re keeping tabs on all sales happening for Cyber Monday and throughout cyber week headed into the holiday season, so we’ll be updating this post as it goes on.

Cyber Monday deals on chef's knives
这个Mac厨师的刀赢在我们年复一年test of the best knives. One reason for that is that it combines some of the best design elements of Western and Japanese-style knives. The blade is straight, with a slight curve at the end, like a Western knife. But, the blade edge is uber sharp and reminiscent of a Japanese knife, making it particularly adept at delicate slicing work; it can mince tender herbs without crushing them. It's also made of hard steel like a Japanese knife, but it's less brittle than some knives of that style, so it doesn't chip. At 6.5 ounces, it's nice and lightweight—great for cooks who like to use a slicing motion and prefer an agile knife, rather than cooks who like to use a rocking motion and prefer a heavier knife.
The Global was our runner-up in ourchef’s knife testing, beating knives that cost twice as much (or in the case of this sale now, four times as much). This knife is incredibly balanced thanks to a unique design: The handle is hollow, and filled with a precise amount of sand to level the weight against the blade. Our testers found it to be incredible responsive in their hands. The proprietary steel it's made of is incredible resistant to wear and rusting, and the knife stays sharp for a very long time. Sur la Table is currently offering a very good deal on this incredible knife.
We return to Victorinox again and again for inexpensive knives that we can count on. Is the finish quality luxe? No. The handle is plastic, but it's comfortable in hand. These knives are very sharp out of the box, and they sharpen well. The best part: They can go in the dishwasher. We like to keep one chef's knife that doesn't need precious handling around in our kitchen.
如果你想要一个样板的刀or someone you (really, really, really) like, you should have New West under consideration. The Jackson Hole-based knife maker forges some of the sharpest blades and produces some of the most beautiful handles on the market. And that means New West knives are pricey, but right now if you use code CyberMonday20 you can get 20% off their G-Fusion and Ironwood lines that include the chef's knife below, as well as santoku, paring, carving, bread, petty, and deli knives.
These knives didn't win our tests, but are well reviewed elsewhere (or are from brands we trust) and are on sale now.
Cyber Monday deals on santoku knives
While some might say that you don’t need a santoku knife if you have a chef’s knife,we’ve argued三德刀min时尤其有用cing herbs and performing ultrathin knife work on vegetables. Misen makes high-quality, affordable kitchen equipment. Its kitchen knives have always performed well in our tests, though they tend to be the heavier, German-style knives. Some of our testers have dinged them for that, but it’s really a matter of personal preference. This is a relatively affordable knife you can currently get for 20% off.
Cyber Monday deals on paring knives
Every kitchen needs a greatparing knife, of course—for peeling apples, for slicing cheese, for hulling strawberries, for handling all manner of delicate knife work. The Kuhn Rikon has been a favorite budget pick of ours for years, and it's 41% off right now, so it's even cheaper.
This high-quality knife from one of our favorite brands is currently 40% off, making it one of the best Cyber Monday knife deals out there.
This is another inexpensive favorite, offered at an even greater discount today. Because of its thin blade, it's easy to maneuver around the curves of an apple or pear. And it comes in tons of fun colors that would pop on a cheese board.
This really does fly in the face of our normal recommendation not to spend much money on a paring knife, but they're just so darn pretty. Also, unlike almost all low-to-mid-range priced knives (and even some expensive ones), the New West will sharpen up nicely so it won't need replacing.
Serrated/Bread knives
Sure, serrated knivescan feel like a niche utensil, but for the two or three tasks they perform (slicing bread, slicing tomatoes and other delicate fruit) they are absolutely essential. Also, good serrated knives don't need to cost very much at all compared to a chef's knife or even a santoku. This is a classic bread knife that has held its top spot in our test of thebest bread knivesseveral years running. It's comfortable to hold, and the perfect weight.
The Dexter-Russell won the spot of most affordable in our testing; it’s currently 12% off, making an affordable knife even more affordable.
Steak knives
Steak knife sets (you don’t have to use them solely for steak!) might seem like a frivolous expense, but these Cyber Monday deals make them an affordable luxury.
Better known for their pro quality ranges, Viking dabbles in other kitchen offerings as well, like these good looking steak knives.
This stainless-steel set by Chicago Cutlery is relatively inexpensive and one of the sharpest we used in ourtesting.
Knife block sets
We tend not to recommend knife block sets for the same reason we don’t recommend cookware sets: We think you usually end up paying for things you won’t use or don’t need (we’re talking about you, knife that is too long to be a utility knife but too wide to be a boning knife). But Cyber Monday sales are a good time to get sets because the prices are so low you aren’t actually paying for anything extra. Henckels is a longtime power player in the knife world, and this set would make a good starter set for anyone who has been struggling with cheap, crummy knives. And Zwilling (from the same parent company) makes a higher end set that would make a great gift for someone just starting to stock their first kitchen. Or, you know, also just for yourself. The Shun set below is, as the name suggests, a slimmed down set with only three knives—perfect since you can get one of the bargain serrated knives up above to fill out your knife drawer.
Of course, once you've shopped all of the knife deals, you might need something to ensure that your blades stay sharp. Knife maintenance is super important: Even if you buy the very best chef's knife, it won't function properly (and will be prone to dangerous slipping) if it isn't sharp. We have a comprehensive guide toknife maintenance with a whetstone and honing steel—read it and buy a discounted sharpening stone today. Or, if you prefer a super simple way to sharpen, shop one of the pull-through electric sharpeners below.
