Blueberry Smash

You can use any ripe berries to make this seasonal pitcher cocktail.

Ingredients

Makes 6 to 8 servings

2 lemons, sliced into rounds
2 limes, sliced into rounds
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup (loosely packed) fresh mint leaves plus sprigs for garnish
1 1/2 cups vodka
3/4 cup St-Germain (elderflower liqueur)
  1. Step 1

    Using a muddler or the handle of a wooden spoon, coarsely mash lemon and lime slices, blueberries, and mint leaves in a large pitcher. Stir in vodka, St-Germain, and 2 cups of ice cubes.

    Step 2

    Divide drink among coupe or highball glasses; top with more ice cubes. Garnish each drink with a mint sprig.

  • Have made this many times with blueberries alone or mixed fresh berries. Always a hit (although can be strong for people who do not drink much, so can be nice to have tonic/fizzy water to top it as an option).

  • This is definitely a favorite to everyone I've ever served it to, as everyone wanted the recipe! Easy to make little changes to suit your taste also. If someone feels it's too boozy, just add some club soda to their glass. The perfect 'party starter'!

  • I made this for a party recently and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed it and it was so easy to make. Don't skimp on the mint it really makes this drink. A wonderful blend of flavors.

  • Have made this with gin as well as vodka,pour over ice,top with tonic-delicious.Quick and easy way to use fruit from my CSA when i don't want to bake or cook!
