  • We enjoyed this meal immensely. I did substitute a squeeze tube of basil paste for the mint and used sour cream instead of yogurt in the avocado dip due to family preferences. I also took the advice of others and didn’t add salt — thank goodness! The crab salad and the dip complemented each other very well. Making my own tostadas from flour tortillas took only a minute or two and was well worth the effort.

  • This was so delicious, but I highly (highly!) recommend not adding any salt until the very end. We used frozen Alaskan King crab for this recipe which came with its own naturally salty flavor and made our own homemade Old Bay seasoning since they were out at the grocery. It's a beautiful salad and full of summertime flavor, but next time I will definitely not add any salt until the end, and then, only if it needs a little lift. Otherwise, the fresh flavors of the salad get overpowered by the salt. Having said that, would definitely would make this again though.

  • This was really good. Since I live in Maryland, I have access to fresh, amazing crab. You really need to use the best quality ingredients you can find because the flavors are very simple. This is great as a light lunch or as an appetizer at dinner with friends. Taste the crabmeat before adding salt; you don’t want to over salt the dish. Otherwise, just make it as written and enjoy.
