Peppery Edamame

Swap the black pepper for other spices, such as cumin, or fresh chopped herbs.

Ingredients

14-16-ounce bag frozen unshelled edamame (soybeans)
3 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
  1. Cook edamame in a large pot of boiling water 2 minutes; drain and transfer to a large bowl. Add oil, pepper, salt, and sugar and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

  • These are addicting! I now have to have several bags of edamame in my freezer..I love to just snack on them for lunch..sooo good

  • Yummy and super easy! I will make it again and again. I never imagined that the combo of pepper and sugar was so good. A few tips - Trader Joes sells both raw and cooked frozen edamame - be sure to get the raw and don't over cook or the beans will be mushy, 5 minutes tops as they continue to cook once you pull them from the water. Also, sesame oil goes rancid quickly sitting in the deep depths of your cupboards, so make sure your is fresh.

  • This recipe was so easy that my cat could make it. It was wiped out within minutes. Everyone thought it was great, especially with the toasted sesame oil.
