If you love the citrusy bite of Campari, it’s time to meet your new summer drink. The Sicilian Slush pairs the Italian aperitivo with herbal gin and plenty of freshly squeezed orange juice to create a blush-pink, bittersweet slushie that delivers even more refreshment.

Ingredients

Makes 4 cocktails

½ cup Campari
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
¼ cup fresh orange juice
¼ cup gin
¼ cup (or more)simple syrup
4 orange wheels
  1. Blend Campari, lemon juice, orange juice, gin, simple syrup, and 6 cups ice in a blender until smooth. Taste and add more simple syrup, if desired. Divide among 4 rocks glasses and garnish with orange wheels.

  • Perfect cocktail for the hottest summer evenings! Generous 4 cups of ice is plenty! More than that it’s just too watery. Agave nectar works well in lieu of simple syrup.

  • Loved it. Used tangerine juice instead of orange. I drank the whole thing before my husband informed me it was supposed to make 4 servings!

  • Delicious! I used fresh grapefruit juice instead of orange, because I had them on hand, and the beverage was fabulous! Pretty and bright!

  • 2Qs: 1. can we use vodka instead of gin? 2. can we add a creamy bases like sorbet or some cream for a richer taste?

  • For Brooklyn22 -- a nice icy cold vodka would work as well in my opinion.

  • Cold, fresh and invigorating - a great drink for those hot summer days. I will try this again when friends come around. If the Campari lasts that long :)

  • I have a question not a review......I can't drink gin......what, if anything, would be a good alcohol substitute that would work with the flavor of Campari.....would dry vermouth work?
