  • Pretty good. I used sweet potato and a small carrot. It was a bit off, so I added a couple spoons coconut milk (similar to oil idea of others), one banana, and pineapple (I didn't have any mango). Came out quit nicely after some doctoring!

  • This is a great way to use fresh turmeric. I followed the recipe, only adding half a teaspoon of coconut oil when blending. The spiciness of the turmeric really comes through well and balances nicely with the orange and carrot. A great refreshing drink !

  • Thanks, charmianentine - that is exactly what I was going to the comments to say. I was thinking that organic extra virgin coconut oil would be a good complement to this recipe. I also haven't tried it yet, but may for my next smoothie.

  • A health professional just reminded me that to get the health benefits of turmeric you have to have some oil in your recipe absorb the main beneficial ingredient. I have not made this yet but will add a bit of oil when I do. It sounds good. Could only comment if I rated the recipe.

  • I've made this at least ten times and absolutely love it! I make with fresh turmeric found at Whole Foods! Relish!
